The Dallas County Historical Society was established in June, 1966. Dues are $10.00 per year and this includes a bulletin in the spring and fall. Lifetime membership dues are $100.00.
The Dallas County Historical Society offers many

and historians, including books of cemetery, school, marriage,
death and land records.

The Buffalo Head Prairie Historical Park is located on Highway 65 on
the south end of Buffalo.
This nice park is home to the Dallas County Museum,
dedicated to the memory of our ancestors and their way of life,
and the Jacobsen Research Library.
Both the museum and library are now handicapped accessible.
The Eberhart
Cabin (built about 1861) and Crescent School (built in 1887) also are located
in the park.
The library is open on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays from 10:00 to 2:00 or by
appointment, except on holidays and when the weather is bad.
